My Club Betting feature

Club Website has teamed up with My Club Betting to develop a new fundraising feature for our over-18 teams.

We understand that many of our users have a betting account, so we wanted to turn this into an opportunity for our teams to generate some extra revenue for themselves.

Traditionally, bookmakers haven't supported their local community but now, through this joint initiative between Club Website and My Club Betting, teams can benefit from kit, equipment and money going back into those all-important team coffers.

With this in mind, we have launched a new feature that will allow your members to place bets through a dedicated area on your website, which will raise funds for your team whenever they do so. This feature will be added to both your desktop and mobile website.

 

Key features and benefits of the My Club Betting service

By activating this feature your team can take advantage of the following key benefits:

1. Rewards of kit and equipment based on the number of qualifying members* who sign up to the betting service:

  • 1 sign-up = 1 FIFA Inspected Errea Stream IV football
  • 6 sign-ups = 2 more Errea Stream IV balls and an Errea Kit Bag
  • 11 sign-ups = An Errea team kit (14 outfield kits and 1 goalie kit – shirts, shorts and socks)
  • 30 sign-ups = 4 water-bottle carriers and 24 water bottles
  • 40 sign-ups = 2 manager's jackets and 3 sub’s jackets

 * A qualifying member is a person, over the age of 18, who has cumulatively bet £20 or more via the team’s betting service at odds of 4/5 (1.8) or greater, and on any sport.

2. Your team will earn 20% of all bookmakers' net revenues (losses) generated by your registered team members (see “How your team earns money and receives payment” section for more details).

How to activate the My Club Betting feature on your website

Please note: for websites that have multiple teams this feature is managed at a “team” administrator level. It will need to be activated for each individual team independently if you wish to add the feature to multiple teams.

Steps:

1. To enable this feature you need to log in as the team administrator.

2. Navigate to the “Add-ons” section from the admin tool bar:

3. From here, select the “Recommended” tab

4. Locate the “My Club Betting” feature within the list of available Add-ons and click “Activate”

5. Complete and submit the form:

6. A successful registration prompt will appear and your new feature will be enabled on your website.

 

What will appear on your website once the feature is activated?

Once the feature is activated the following assets will appear on your website:

1. A dedicated My Club Betting page where your members can sign up and view odds for a variety of sporting events from across the world:

2. A new betting pod will be displayed on your team homepage. This will help to drive awareness of the feature and direct members to your dedicated betting page (it will also confirm how many qualifying members have currently signed up from your team):

3. A My Club Betting toolbar will appear across all your team pages to drive awareness of the feature and also provide shortcut links to popular betting sections within your dedicated betting page:

4. The feature will also be added to your optimized mobile website:

Once the feature has been activated it can be disabled at any time by going back to the “Recommended” section of the "Add-ons" area:

Tracking and monitoring betting activity and earnings generated from your website

Tracking and betting activity can be monitored at any time by accessing the affiliate administration system. The affiliate platform will enable you to track a number of activity indicators (within any chosen period) including:

  • Number of members who have signed up
  • Number of members who have placed a bet
  • Number of bets made
  • Total stake of bets made
  • Bookies’ returns (i.e. an accumulation of whether your members’ bets have made a net win or loss for the period)
  • Net revenue (i.e. what is owed to your team for the period, which is 20% of the bookies’ returns)

During activation you will be asked to confirm an email address. This email address will be used to access your affiliate administration system. Additionally, you will require a password. When you activate the betting feature you will receive an automatic email from My Club Betting to set your password to access this area.

How your team earns money and receives payment

Your team will earn money based on net revenues within each calendar month.

Net revenue is the aggregate of all losing bets, less all winning bets, made by your team members:

  • Positive net revenue (i.e. combined, all your members have lost more than they won) - your team will earn 20% of this amount for that particular month. Each month your team starts with zero balance to give your team the best opportunity to earn revenue.
  • Negative net revenue (i.e. combined, all your members have won more than they lost) - there is no pay-out to your team for that particular month. No negative net revenue is carried over to the following month, so every month your team starts with zero balance to give you the best opportunity to earn revenue.

Payments due to the team are paid on a monthly basis. At the end of each month, within three weeks, My Club Betting will email you (at the email address provided when activating the feature) with a statement showing the total bets made within the previous month and the payments due to your team. Based on that, you will invoice My Club Betting who will pay out within 14 days of receipt of the invoice.

 

Kit and equipment sign-up incentives

There are a range of incentives that your team can earn based on your members signing up to your betting service. To count towards your incentives each member needs to meet the qualifying criteria*.

The top-quality kit and equipment available through the incentives is supplied by Errea (the supplier may change from time to time), who have partnerships with a number of professional Football League clubs.

The incentives your team can earn are as follows:

  • 1 sign-up = 1 FIFA Inspected Errea Stream IV football
  • 6 sign-ups = 2 more Errea Stream IV balls and an Errea Kit Bag
  • 11 sign-ups = An Errea team kit (14 outfield kits and 1 goalie kit – shirts, shorts and socks)
  • 30 sign-ups = 4 water-bottle carriers and 24 water bottles
  • 40 sign-ups = 2 manager's jackets and 3 sub’s jackets

My Club Betting automatically monitors the level of qualifying members. Should your team sign 11 qualifying members, you will qualify for a full kit. My Club Betting will contact you to discuss the colour and design of your team’s kit. A full kit will usually take between 4-6 weeks to be delivered, depending on stock levels.

Marketing support and help

Once you have activated the betting feature your team will receive the following marketing support and collateral:

  • Point of sale kits, which include posters, beer mats, business cards and digital and social media assets. All of the materials will drive traffic to your team’s betting service
  • Members who sign up to your team’s betting service will automatically be added to the Hawk mailing list
  • The Hawk and Midweek Hawk email previews of the week’s sporting events with a betting angle and tips, this is distributed to your registered members every week
  • The Hawk email is bespoke to your team, so your registered members will receive an email with direct links your team’s betting service
  • As the team administrator, you will receive your own email from us, which we ask you to forward out to your database of followers & supporters, telling them about your betting service and the benefits to the club if they sign up

Additionally, we will send you a weekly schedule of Twitter messages that you can share with your followers via your Twitter feed.

  • The Twitter messages will aim to engage with your members whenever possible, driving them to register on your Team service
  • The content will include featured betting markets, competitions, details about how the service works and spotlights on teams that have already registered
  • The My Club Betting Facebook page will also be populated in a similar way, but with more emphasis on visual content: https://www.facebook.com/myclubbetting

The My Club Betting helpdesk is a resource intended to provide you and your members with information and support relating to the My Club Betting service. The purpose of this helpdesk is to troubleshoot problems or provide guidance about the service. The helpdesk can be reached on support@myclubbetting.co.uk. Emails will be responded to within 24 hours.
